In December 2014, while pursuing studies at the university, our founder recognized the urgent need for action to address pressing environmental challenges. Driven by a deep sense of responsibility and inspired by the urgency of the climate crisis, a volunteer-driven Climate Beacons Network was born. As a student, the founder embarked on a mission to raise awareness about climate change, fostering conversations and initiatives in academia, industry, and the community at large.
In 2019, CBN took a significant leap by launching “The ClimAct Magazine,” a pioneering digital publication dedicated to climate change issues in Pakistan. This bold endeavor aimed to empower authors to highlight the environmental challenges faced by the nation and advocate for sustainable solutions. The magazine became a platform for thought-provoking discussions, inspiring action, and promoting awareness among the wider public.
Over time, the realization emerged that raising awareness alone was not enough. As the climate crisis intensified, the need for comprehensive strategies and impactful consulting services became evident. In 2020, recognizing the urgency and the demand for excellence in sustainability consulting, CBN transitioned from a volunteer initiative to a registered private company as per the national rules.
